The Rhythm Evaluation for AntiCoagulaTion With Continuous Monitoring of Atrial Fibrillation (REACT-AF)

This research is being done to assess whether it is safe and effective to stop oral anticoagulation medications (a blood-thinning medication) during prolonged periods of normal heart rhythm in participants with infrequent episodes of atrial fibrillation (AF)

Sex: Male or Female
Age: 18 years and over
Healthy Volunteers:
This study is NOT accepting healthy volunteers
Inclusion Criteria:

• 22-85 years of age
• History of non-permanent atrial fibrillation on anti-coagulants
• CHA2DS2-VASC score of 1-4 for men and 2-4 for women without prior stroke or TIA
Exclusion Criteria:

• Any documented single AF episode lasting ?1 hour on within 45 days prior to randomization
• Existing cardiac rhythm device or indication for a permanent pacemaker, ICD or CRT.
• Participant needs DOAC for reasons other than preventing stroke or arterial embolism resulting from atrial fibrillation.
• Stage 4 or 5 chronic kidney disease
